Running Shoe Video Gait Analysis

If you want to order goods to try in store, please call the stores on the numbers below: There is a lot of good reasons to get the right running shoes, it will make you less injury prone and make your running much more comfortable.

The best way to get the right ones is to be fitted by a trained fitter using static leg axis tests and video gait analysis. It doesn't cost anything and will stop you buying the wrong shoes.

Full Video Gait analysis takes around 20 - 30 minutes. Initially we will perform some static leg axis tests and chat to you about the running you are doing and any problems you may be having.

We will then video you running or walking on the treadmill in a selection of shoes to help establish the very best pair for your running style.



Sports Bra Bar

We have - we believe, the most comprehensive collection of sports bras in sizes from 28 - 44 cups A - J ( yup even a 28J although not a 44 A - sorry they just don't make em). in any shop certainly in the South East and probably in the UK.

Our trained and experienced fitters who do sports bra fitting not only in store but on behalf of Shock Absorber at Shows and Events up and down the country really do know what they are talking about in getting a great fit.

If you just want to try some on and run on the treadmill or jump and down in the fitting rooms thats fine too - we don't insist on fitting you!



Beginners Run Program

We run on a rolling basis a beginners run program from the store. Lead by a qualified and experienced Fitness Professional the courses are designed for absolute beginners and will help you build up to a 5k run over a period of 12 weeks.

A typical 12-week beginners running program

Week 1 - introduction, profiles, information about programme
20-minute walk, including 6 x 1 minute jogs stretches
Week 2 - running gait analysis (?), wearing the right shoes
25-minute walk, including 6 x 1.5 min jogs stretches
Week 3 - importance of core strength, example of exercises
30-minute walk, including 6 x 2 min jog stretches + abs
Week 4 - resistance work - lower body strength
35 minute walk/jog, inc 6 x 3 min jog stretches + leg exercises
Week 5 - resistance - upper body strength
Week 6 - update on progress, pace and general fitness
35 min walk/jog, inc 4 x 5 min jog stretches
Week 7 - 40 min walk/jog, inc 3 x 7 min jog with short faster bouts Advanced stretches
Week 8 - 40 min walk/jog, inc 1 x 5 , 2 x 10 min jog
+ 1 min up-tempo Stretches
Week 9 - 40 min, inc 3 x 10 min jog and 2 min up-tempo Stretches
Week 10 - 40 min, inc 2 x 15 min jog and 1 min sprint Stretches
Week 11 - 40 min, inc 1 x 30 min jog + 1 min up-tempo Stretches
Week 12 - 45 min, inc 1 x 30min+ jog + 1 min up-tempo Stretches, de-briefing, what next?
Week 13 - 5 K RACE!
